Doesn’t work with some E-bike Trek models beware! Very expensive to return.

"Neither item I purchased is compatible with the e-bike I purchased even thought I went to trek and they told me which of your products would work. I think you need to publish a list of commonly purchased bikes and state which of your products works with which bike. I’m pretty angry about this. And I understand that you even educated Trek about your products and they you. I live on an island and large boxes such as these are very difficult to return which is why I went to trek. There is no easy UPS here in our ferry holding house. I’m heart broken because my grandkids were only going to be here for 2 weeks. Please publish a list for future buyers of your products."

      So far, so good

"I haven't used it a ton yet, but so far it's meeting my needs! It definitely has a little bit of a learning curve setting it up and folding it down, but I think it'll get easier once I get more practice. I'm very happy with my new trailer!"

      Not for everyone

"Pros: I use the Hopper more often than my Veer Wagon. The pneumatic tires are silent on cobblestones, and the ride is soft when zooming across a soccer field. I push on the handles to lift the front wheels off the ground when creating a silent/soft ride. Cons: The rear-wheel placement in the Hopper causes the wagon to put a lot of weight on my bike’s rear axle. Best case scenario, you might get a 50:50 split in the weight distribution between your bike and the Hopper. In contrast, my Burley D’Lite X carries the load directly on the trailer’s centered-positioned axle. So 100lbs of groceries at Whole Foods means you’re adding an extra 50lbs on your bikes rear wheel. Try to imagine what it’s like when lifting this extra weight and backing out of a bike rack while also reverse-steering the heavy Hopper-trailer. Second con: I frequently bump my ankle on the soft, folded handle bars of the Hopper when mounting/dismounting at red lights, whereas I never bump my ankle on the Burley D’Lite X. The ankle bumping is a mild annoyance. Last con — it’s somewhat difficult to slide the handle bar tubes together, and it’s EXTREMELY difficult to pull apart the handle bar tubes when folding and converting the wagon to trailer mode. Bottom line is, the Hopper is fantastic for a strong person. If your not strong, then you should haul your gear in a kid trailer to reap the benefits of superior function/design and friendly drivers who think you have a kid in tow. The Hopper also is a bit ugly, so go buy a Veer Wagon if your worried about your image."

Not perfect, but really, really, really good.

"I want to give it five stars, but people just hand those out willy nilly these days. It's a fantastic trailer. Rock solid. The fabric is stretched nice and tight. Everything is engineered, manufactured and assembled perfectly. Handling and use are flawless. I'm holding back one star because it's just a little too heavy. I pull it with an ebike, so no big deal. But I also store it hanging in a crowded garage, so hefting it over my head in a cramped space is more of a chore than I'd like. Speaking of which, the folding design is stellar. I just wish there was an integrated mechanism to hold it closed in storage. Last and least, I'd prefer the handle/ towbar mount as a wagon-style pull rather than a stroller style push. That's vanity talking. Stroller-pushing style is too parental/ suburban for my taste."

      Great for Community Garden Work!

"I help manage a community garden in a park that is about . 5 miles from any major roads, but does have bike paths that connect. This has made moving mulch, soil, gravel etc a breeze with my e-bike versus repeat wheelbarrow adventures. And it's cool for general shopping and other transport as well!"

Great addition to the bike commuting family!

"LOVE IT! We already had the Bark Ranger XL & wanted something we could take directly into stores when shopping for groceries, clothes, whatever, & not have to worry about securing the trailer outside and then not have to worry about whether everything would fit since we were loading the trailer as a stroller while shopping. Rolls GREAT in trailer mode! I didn't notice any bouncing or wiggling while empty. Plus, once loaded with groceries the smooth rolling made towing feel much easier. The stroller mode was very convenient in the store. Plus it was SILENT! Think how obnoxious most grocery store shopping carts sound. Plan to also use it to tow around the nieces or nephew when visiting & going to the playground or zoo. Great addition to any family who navigates their city/town by bike. I highly recommend it!!!"

      FAQ

No, children cannot be transported in the Hopper while it is in bike trailer mode. The Hopper is designed to carry children while in stroller mode but is not designed to carry passengers while being towed by a bike. If you need to transport a child while biking, you must use a separate bike seat (such as the Burley Dash® RM) or a dedicated child bike trailer like the Burley Encore X. Once you reach your destination, you can quickly convert the Hopper into a stroller wagon, allowing your child to ride inside comfortably with the optional Hopper Seat Insert and Sunshade Kit.

The Hopper features a tool-free conversion system, allowing you to switch between bike trailer and wagon mode in under a minute. The front caster wheels stow securely under the trailer when biking and can be easily deployed by pressing a button. The tow arm, which attaches the Hopper to the bike, quickly detaches and repositions as a stroller handlebar, providing an ergonomic grip for pushing. This seamless transition makes the Hopper ideal for multi-modal travel, allowing you to bike to a location and immediately switch to walking without extra tools or hassle.

To enhance its versatility, the Hopper offers a range of optional accessories:

Hopper Seat Insert & Sunshade Kit– Converts the Hopper into a fully functional stroller wagon, providing a 5-point safety harness, padded seating, and a retractable sunshade for comfort and protection. Two Seat Insert & Sunshade Kits can be installed in the Hopper at the same time.

Hopper Interior Organizer Kit– Keeps the interior neat and organized with two removable dividers, featuring large mesh pockets to store essentials like snacks, water bottles, toys, or other small items. The dividers that can be easily rolled up or removed when not in use.

16+ Wheel Kit– Provides access to off-road adventures, these wider tires with more rugged tread offer superior stability and handling on sand, gravel, snow and other uneven surfaces.

Dry Bag – An ideal fit for the Hopper, this tough yet lightweight and durable 75-liter bag keeps your gear protected from the elements. Its classic roll-top design and heat-sealed seams make this waterproof bag the perfect option for carrying cargo year-round.

These accessories allow users to customize the Hopper for different needs, whether carrying groceries, hauling outdoor gear, or transporting children in stroller mode.

The Hopper has a maximum weight capacity of 100 lbs (45 kg) and a storage volume of 115 liters. This spacious design makes it ideal for carrying groceries, camping gear, picnic supplies, sports equipment, and more.

Yes! The Hopper is fully compatible with electric bikes (e-bikes), making it an excellent choice for eco-conscious commuters and families who want to reduce car trips. The lightweight aluminum frame and efficient tow system allow it to be easily pulled by both traditional and electric bicycles without adding excessive drag.
