It's a hit

"The Burley Piccolo has been such a hit with the little one. We've had it for a couple of weeks now and it's led to all sorts of biking adventures together."

I absolutely love the piccolo

"I bought my piccolo second hand for my four year old daughter, she has a single speed bike but has yet to make it off training wheels, its harder for her to pedal at a pace where she can keep up with her 7 Year Old Brother who took to bicycles early and fast. At times it was discouraging for her and she did not like to ride. Enter the Piccolo she loves riding on it, it has its own bell own water bottle holder, she can change gears and she can pedal as much or as little as she wants. Its taught her how to shift, how to pedal, and was an instant success. Because I bought it second hand i did have some maintenance items that needed to be fixed but burley has alot of parts readily available at acceptable prices. I bought a second moose rack so i could have one on both my and her moms bikes. The one thing i noticed about the moose rack is that its universal, i found the bars to attach it were not optimal for my bicycle but they are replaceable so I used a small pipe bender to put an arc into them that would better fit them to the angles on my bicycle. I currently have moose racks on a Bianchi Zurigo, a Trek Marlin 5 and A specialized stumpjumper Mountain bike. The only con that I have observed with this is that it is not a very soft ride especially when being pulled behind a mountain bike, I wanted to put an oversized 20" mountain bike tire on it to give it a little bit of cushion but it looks like the max tire size is about 2. 0" which is also a very tight fit. If Burley is reading. . . put bigger tires on this thing, give it a bit of cushion. I understand discouraging people from riding off road, but a little bit of flotation so the ride is smoother would be appreciated!"

Best trailer kid bike

"I had this trailer since 2018 to carry my son. It’s solid and top quality. Now it’s 2024, my son is in high school, now I carry my daughter every day to elementary school! It is very good and we have take it everywhere! Recommended 100%"

My significant other bought this

"My significant other bought this product so that our 6 year old daughter could go on bike rides with him and be safe. She absolutely loves it and that is something they do to stay active and healthy as well as being able to do something they both like to do."

Martha H. (5/5)

Burley Piccolo

"Installation was straight forward. Seat post got stuck during installation. Issue could only be fixed by the bike shop. Stays works well and it is easy to connect and disconnect the Piccolo. Balance is great and it is easy to ride. The use over a longer period of time will tell how good the quality of the bike is."

Q&A

Hi, can the rack be used with disc brakes? Or do I need an adapter to make it work with disc brakes?
Hello! The Moose Rack can indeed be used with disc brakes, but you may require a rack adapter in order for the rack to fit. Please contact our customer service team for further assistance if necessary. Their email address is: Burley@burley.com
I am interested in this for dirt forest roads and smoother trails though would like to install a larger tire and quality suspension seat post to smooth the ride for my kids. What is the max tire size that can safely be fitted to the Piccolo? Also, what is the seat post diameter and length of the factory post? Thanks
Thank you for the question! We typically recommend using only the replacement parts, such as tires, that are available directly through Burley - https://burley.com/collections/bike-trailer-parts. The seat post is ~10.5 inches long, and the diameter is ~27MM. If you have any other questions, please contact our Customer Support team. Their email is: Burley@burley.com. Thanks!
Is there a maximum height, or just a maximum weight? My daughter usually outgrows things by height long before weight.
Hello! Thank you for the question. We do not list a maximum height for the Piccolo, only the maximum weight of 85 lbs. The seat on the Piccolo is adjustable up to 28 inches, and is designed for children ages 4-10.
Has anyone used the piccolo with a existing tumbleweed rack?
Thank you for the question! The Piccolo and Kazoo trailercycles are only compatible with the Moose Rack.
