EUGENE, OR (Dec. 5, 2019) – Burley Design is proud to announce the Coho XC as a recipient of the 2019 Red Dot Design Award for outstanding design achievement. This single-wheeled trailer offers cyclists unparalleled opportunities to fit the needs of every journey, from pavement to single-track. In addition to the 2019 Red Dot Award, the Coho XC also took home a 2018 Eurobike Award.

The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 2019, designers and manufacturers from 55 countries entered more than 5,500 products in the competition. The international jury comprises experienced experts from different disciplines and has been convening for more than 60 years in order to select the year’s best designs.

“We are thrilled to have the Coho XC receive another award recognizing superior product design,” says Allison Straub, President of Burley Design. “Our mission is to enable adventure, and we believe we’ve made a trailer that does just that. The Coho XC is innovative, thoughtfully designed and adaptable to any adventure, in a category that hadn’t changed or evolved in many years.”

The Coho XC revolutionizes the single-wheel trailer market using the Burley Ballz axle-hitching system and an adjustable width yoke to accommodate the ever-evolving variation in hub widths. Featuring this dual-ball hitch, cyclists can easily and tool-free attach the trailer’s yoke to a vast range of axle and hub widths on the market. In addition, the Coho XC promises consumer-friendly usability distinguished by its one-handed release handle, height adjustable kickstand, and level frame and fender for securing long and oversized objects to the trailer. And that is only to name a few, as the Coho XC additionally features a coil spring suspension and integrated accessory mounts for customization that meets each cyclist’s needs. The single wheel means you can take the Coho XC with you anywhere your adventure takes you.
