Perfect Bikepacking Addition

"I’m very pleased with the Burley Coho XC trailer for hauling my camping gear. It keeps the center of gravity low and tracks perfectly. I added some DIY mud guards to both the yoke end and at the rear wheel to keep crud off of the shock and gear. Not sure why this isn’t standard or at least an option… hint, hint. I also cut up an old fatigue mat to help deaden the sound of the plastic floor (another opportunity for Burley!)."

Great gift for Mtb family

"My son uses the Coho XC to take his band instrument to school each day. He was bummed out that he would not be able to continue riding his bike to school now that he's in band... this trailer saved the day! We also use it for weekend trail work days and other mtb adventures. Durability seems great. Attachment to bike is strong and simple, although the axle suggested for our bike was about 10mm too long. Just measure your existing axle with a caliper or ruler before ordering. We modified ours with a saw and tap / die to modify the threads."

Fantastic in most ways, but some limitations

"Overall, it is amazing and I am happy to have it. On the rough dirt roads near our house, it is the best. On a recent short road tour, it was great when needing to hug the road edge when cars were dangerously close as it follows remarkably well (a two wheel trailer would have gone over the edge). But the load must pack low; if the center of gravity rises the trailer tends to knock you over and must be constantly fought. This can happen with any load where weight density is low and it is large and therefore high. Or if you put a large box on top, as advertised as one of its features, you will have problems if it has any weight. For either case, a two wheel trailer is superior. Like a Nomad or Flatbed. On the unmaintained dirt roads near our home, this thing is clearly superior to a two wheeled trailer (as long as the load center stays low), Well made. Quality components."

Light and sturdy design

"This trailer is very well designed and built. The kickstand and hitch connection make this trailer easy to use. It comes apart quickly with little effort for transport and storage. I am glad I purchased the panniers and 3” tire upgrade. I appreciate the extra storage and easy access to small items the panniers provide."

Coho XC -

"When I received the trailer, I could not get the yoke to mount on the trailer. The tolerances were off. The mounts for the yoke were too close together to position the yoke into place. I wrote to customer support. I was told that a new trailer was to be shipped out and that the original trailer was to be kept "as parts". After a couple of weeks of waiting, a new trailer was never delivered. I then built a wedge and hammered it in between the yoke mounts. Then I was able to squeeze the yoke into place. I am the president of a non-profit trails stewardship organization. The trailer was purchased using stewardship funds and is used for trail maintenance projects. It is a great tool to haul tools into our non-motorized trail network."

Good product

"Love the simplicity of the trailer. However, too much weight and it becomes very unstable ride. Also, don’t load above rails, wind push causes trailer sway. Maybe it was my titanium frame, maybe not. I’ll keep testing it with practice trips bike pack camping."

— Derek S. (4/5)

surprisingly stable, love kickstand

"I have a Coho XC and use it to transport chainsaw, tools, water jugs on my land on single track mountaiin bike trails. It takes a little time to get used to the handling but then I almost forget about the load. The kickstand is brilliant and makes it easy to keep bike standing up while partially unloading trailer cargo. Of course, no design can overrule gravity, on sidehill one must lay the boike and trailer down. I did not yet order the gnarly tire, standard wheel seems fine on our trails."

New Trailer

"Tracks well, easy to assemble. . . ."

Burley Coho XC

"I like the trailer. One part of the setup was awful; the metal cylinder in the yoke was too big for the slots it was to fit in. This led to two hours of very frustrating efforts, finally solved with a hammer, but that was scary and should not have been necessary."

— Glenda H. (4/5)

Dog likes it!

"Super easy to assemble and break down for storage. With lots of high value treats (bacon) the dog will ride in the trailer. We got 2 axles for different bikes. One fit perfectly, one needed a spacer so buyer beware on that part. Quick release and kickstand are outstanding. We look forward to our 5 day tour on the trans Canada trail."
