STURDY ENOUGH FOR A LARGE DOG

"Beside being easy to assemble, the materials are of a good quality. The cart is very rugged. The hard bottom prevents sagging as seen on cheaper model from other vendors. I really think the tires are excellent and the easy on/off will make any repair so easy. Overall I am convince I got what I paid for, and what I got is the best dog cart out there. I have a 75 pound German Shepard who is happy she's not getting left behind on bike rides. Safety features are plentiful."

So worth the investment

"After weeks of my daughter looking at used trailers, I decided that with a 13 year old dog with arthritisl & a reactive rescue, safety was all that mattered. The stability and ease of assembly can’t be beat. They have enjoyed over 100 miles together and I know there are many more to come."

Most incredible bike accessory.

"I am so pleased that Burley created the Bark Ranger XL. I cannot drive a car, due to a rare vision condition, but I can bike. We have a large Golden Retriever and I can now take her to the park, out for hikes and group rides. Incredible game changer."

Bark Ranger is Amazing!

"The quality of the Bark Ranger is top notch. Was easy to assemble. I had to purchase a thru axle to fit my Mt Bike and was able to use the fit guide successfully first time. I have done a test ride on the bike, and was surprised that I hardly felt any drag or sway. Have mostly used it as stroller to get our puppy used to the carrier. The BR moves effortlessly. Easy to push while also walking our older dog."

Kyle G. (5/5)

Horrible Quality

"I am amazed by how many good reviews there are for the Bark Ranger XL. This thing is garbage and overpriced. The quality is horrible. It feels like one bump and it will fall in to pieces. Also there is nowhere to harness our dog in. Also, their support is even worse."

BARK XL

"Easy to assemble & very light weight."

Could improve a couple things

"I bought a burley bark ranger for my 2 dogs( 1-13 lbs and 1-25 lbs). Both dogs fit in my standard size very easily. The reason I decided on this is because it seemed to have less people complaining about it tipping over. If it tips over my younger dog will never get in it again. I like the fact it sits low but haven’t been able to use with my bike yet because of the weather. The 1 thing I didn’t realize is there is no leash inside to connect my dogs to and really no convent spot so I put them Aron’s the frame inside. I didn’t expect 2 leashes but for the price I figured there would be at least one. I also didn’t like that I had to purchase a separate rain cover, they could have put a cover like the one on the back over the screen that you could roll back when not in use. It does seem to be very sturdy and well made and it is very easy to fold and take the wheels off for storage. I wish I had waited a few weeks because it is on sale now and I could have saved over $200 with everything I bought but that ship has sailed. . It does seem to be a good trailer if I have any problems after I start using it I will be sure to update my review. ."

Zippers fail on low quality trailer cover

"This product is not built for long-term use. The frame and wheels are fine, but the cover is complete garbage with low quality zippers that just won’t last. I had my trailer for less than a year when the zippers on the front failed. I tried to solve the problem by purchasing a new cover – however the cover came with no instructions and it was impossible to replace. I spent too much time and ended up getting frustrated which is when I gave up on the product / brand completely. Shame on Burley for selling something without any video or instructions when it’s clearly not an intuitive process. Essentially, I wasted money on an expensive trailer and a cover replacement just have to throw them into garbage due to frustration. . I ended up buying a Hamax Pluto which is a much better European brand with a superior design / engineering for slightly more money. I will never buy a Burly product again after this and urge everyone else to avoid it all costs, especially if you plan to use it daily. I never leave reviews, but I’m so irritated with the product that it felt like it was the right thing to give others a heads up."

Perfect for my old guy to tag along on adventures in

"My 14yr Malinois in unable to go long adventures due to his age and spondylosis, I hate leaving him behind though. Now he can still go without it being too much for him 😁"

Q&A

Would two dogs fit in the XL ranger? I have a boxer and a chocolate lab mix.
Thank you for the question! As long as the total weight inside the trailer does not exceed the capacity of 100 lbs., you can tow two dogs inside the Bark Ranger XL. Please review the Bark Ranger product page for additional resources to learn more about this product: https://burley.com/products/bark-ranger
is there a protection for rain
Thank you for the question! Yes, please see the following link to our Bark Ranger Rain Cover accessory: https://burley.com/products/bark-ranger-rain-cover
Are the tires inflatable? If not, is there an option to change out tires for dog comfort?
Thank you for the question! Yes, the tires that come included with the Bark Ranger are inflatable. The Bark Ranger is also compatible with our 16+ Wheel Kit in case you are interested in a more rugged tire that is ideal for off-road conditions: https://burley.com/collections/pet-bike-trailer-accessories/products/16-wheel-kit
Can you tie up the dog inside the carrier to prevent running away if the bike tips?
Thank you for the question! The Bark Ranger does not come included with interior connection points to tether the dog to the trailer. This is to prevent the dog from becoming tangled while the trailer is in motion. Instead, we recommend following the guidance in our Pet Trailer Training video series to ensure that your dog is calm and comfortable inside the trailer: https://burley.com/blogs/videos/tagged/pet-training
Have you updated the kickstand so that you can use it without bending down? I have a heavy eBike and a 90 pound lab so don’t want them to tip if I let go of the bike to use the kickstand.
Thank you for the question! The design of the Bark Ranger Kickstand has not changed. Note that some customers use their feet to deploy and retract the kickstand: https://burley.com/collections/pet-bike-trailer-accessories/products/bark-ranger-kickstand
