Rated 5 out of 5 by from Annie, my Border Collie, is getting used to her tail wagon. We have made several short trips. I find it very easy to handle and to pull; however, one of the first times I used it, the bike fell over as Annie was loading up, and the connector snapped. Thankfully, the bike shop had one and installed it for me. So, if you do not have another person to hold the bike to make sure it doesn't fall while you are loading, you have to find some way to wedge the bike upright to keep it from falling over. The bike shop looking at installing a different kickstand, but there wasn't room on the axle when using the wagon. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I just took my dog on his first bicycle tour using the Tail Wagon and we both love it! The chariot style makes it a very comfortable ride for him, it was easy to pull, and I barely noticed when he repositioned himself. It was SO much better than when I tried to haul him on a gear trailer. We did just over 200 miles this tour without a single problem from the trailer. The brake made loading and unloading very easy. The only thing I would (and did) change was to add a little bungee to hold the brake in the off position when not in use. So happy that I found a comfortable way to take my dog with on rides. Now he insists on going with every time and I am really looking forward to taking him on a longer tour next summer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My master and I love our new Burley Tail Wagon! My name is Kiah and I am a 50 pound Australian Shepard mix which means I'm nearing the upper weight limit of my wagon. I've had to work with my master to engineer some nifty tie-down harnesses to keep me from jumping out when something of interest crosses my path. My master says he would be happy to share these modifications with Burley if there is any interest. I do have one request: It would sure be nice to have an optional, longer, trailor-to-bike bar to keep my nose farther away from the rear wheel. For smaller dogs this would not be as much of a concern, but for us larger dogs (like me!) we would benefit greatly from the added safety distance. Let's see what we can do. Roll on Burley!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome ride Just do it. Pull the trigger and get this trail wagon. Easy setup, sturdy construction, and very quick training for doggie get accustomed to this ride. Our Czech Shepherd fur baby is 53 lbs, 29 in long and fit inside just fine. It's slightly tight when she lays down, but still fits and she figured out how to maximize the platform by laying diagonally. In future iterations, it would be nice to see Burley 1) add a bit of length to accommodate longer dogs (2 in would be nice) and 2) include off-rpad tires. Remove any excess metal parts on your dogs collar before the ride so it doesn't get stuck on the mesh. Otherwise, it's a great way to get a different workout in by towing extra weight. She loved the trip to the beach and a fellow rider commented, "I love your setup!!!" Excellent product, Burley, keep the pet products coming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought the Tail Wagon so I could take my two Westies, Riley and Zumer, for bike rides. They love being outside and going on adventures. After doing plenty of research, I landed on the Tail Wagon and ordered it online directly from Burley. It was easy to assemble when it arrived. The guys love to go for rides in it. It is stable and easy to bike with. No pull/drag, no difficulty navigating with it behind my bike. They both sit inside and look around and seem to really enjoy the trip. I am happy to recommend the Tail Wagon--it is well made, sturdy and safe. We will enjoy it for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now we can take the whole family Got a trike and a Burley for my 70th Birthday. Riding the trails as a family (including our service dog) is the best activity in the world. Our pup loves the Burley. He jumps in and loves to look at the world as we whiz by. Then he jumps out, runs along side for awhile, then gets back in when he gets tired. With the Burley, we can go much further than if we didn't have a way to carry him. We were not sure how it would work with a trike, but it works very well. His name is Otto, so we have a banner attached to the Burley that says: "Otto Mobile" We absolutely love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed my Life! OK well not exactly but with 4 dogs it helps. We drag them around on our bikes ( not all four at the same time). We have two Jack Russells a beagle and a 40 lb Shepherd mix. 3 at a time would fit. Setup and hooking it all up is a breeze. We also have the stroller wheel and kickstand. As our dogs have aged the stroller is GREAT for kepping them in a moderately active routine. We also use this this as a cart to haul times in. Took it camping and hauled groceries, firewood etc. Super durable, looks great ( get ton of compliments) If I was forced to find fault it would be can't tie up the flaps as neat and tidy as I would like, needs another strap? Erik's Bike Shop hooked me up shout out to them for great service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love the Tail Wagon! It easily holds our 4 Yorkies (9 lbs. to 12 lbs.) and they are comfortable in it. We pull it with our bikes and we use it as a stroller. It allows us to take the dogs in places where they might not be welcome outside of the stroller, like the neighborhood library. CVS, etc... It is easy to hook/unhook from a bike. It is also light enough that we can hang it from the ceiling of the garage with our bikes.

I have a Trek Duel Sport Hybrid bike with disc brakes and quick release hubs. Is there any way to hitch the Tail Wagon to this bike?

Asked by: Yodaborg
The Steel Hitch will certainly mount on a bicycle with disc brakes and a QR hub.

I've been such a big Burley fan. I just bought a third Burley for my Labrador - tail wagon. I'm a bit perplexed (frustrated) with the design - which does not allow her to sit up straight while facing forward (bike). She is not comfortable in it. WTHeck?

Asked by: David Deppeler
David, it sounds like your lab may be a bit too big for the Tail Wagon. We apologize, the Tail Wagon is designed for small-medium sized dogs. We are hoping to come out with another version for larger dogs at some point in the future. In the meantime many people with larger dogs have been able to use the child trailers with the seat folded down and some blankets to fill in the dip in the footwell. Hopefully you can return the Tailwagon and get something your dog is more comfortable in.

The Tail Wagon does not include any of the accessories. The stroller kits are an additional purchase.

Hi. Is it safe to attach the Burley tail wagon to an electric bike? If so, what would be the top speed for the tail wagon and how many miles will the tail wagon withstand? Thank you

Asked by: Ayeshaveh
The Tail Wagon can certainly be used with an eBike. Our manual recommends a max speed of 15 mph on smooth flat surfaces and 5 mph on uneven terrain or while turning. There is no calculated mileage of use. This will depend on care, maintenance, and general use of the trailer.

Is it possible to jog with the available stroller kit? And if so, is the one or two wheel kit preferable?

Asked by: ChrisBee
The Tail Wagon is compatible with the 1-Wheel or 2-Wheel Stroller Kit. Burley only advises walking or strolling with these accessories. The 1-Wheel Stroller Kit has a great and quick conversion from biking to strolling.

What do you do if your dog weighs 85 lbs.?

Asked by: Tim_Autumn
Our Tail Wagon has a weight capacity of 75lbs. Often users with larger dogs will purchase one of our double child trailers with a weight capacity of 100lbs. These can easily be converted for use as a pet carrier by adding a rigid floor and retaining loops for the pet's leash.

Also is it possible to change the wheel size on the Tail Wagon. Since there is no suspension on the trailer it would be nice to get a taller or fat tire on it to run a lower air pressure to help reduce bumps on road. Thank you

Asked by: TomR
Burley only recommends using the 16" wheels that come with the trailer.
